• What is RUHS Week?

  This is RUHS’ annual employee appreciation event which coincides with National Hospital Week and National Nurses’ Week. Employees from the Medical Center, Community Health Centers, Correctional Health, Behavioral Health, and Public Health are all celebrated. This year, the RUHS Week Fiesta will take place over two weeks, from May 5 to 16, across five different locations.

  RUHS Medical Center

  Wednesday, May 7 | 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

  RUHS Public Health/Arlington

  Tuesday, May 13 | 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

  RUHS Behavioral Health

  Wednesday, May 14 | 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

  Desert Region

  RUHS Mission Grove

  Community Health Centers and Correctional Health will receive special packages during this time. Managers will be contacted by Linda Tra with approximate delivery date, time, and instructions.

• What can we expect?

  • Start at the check-in area and sign in using your employee ID number to receive:

    • an appreciation gift

    •   a ticket for one complimentary treat

  • Visit booths to meet with various RUHS/RIVCO departments and speak with local community organizations and businesses.

  • Sample food that will be available for purchase from local vendors.

  • Play interactive inflatable games and win prizes.

  • Dress up for Spirit Week and show your team spirit!

  • Snap a picture with your co-workers in the photo booth.

  • Have fun and enjoy the games and music!

• What is the RUHS Week gift and treat this year?

  The gift is an RUHS-branded car sunshade. Freshly made conchas are available at in-person events only.  

• Who can participate?

  ALL RUHS employees can enjoy the festivities, including TAP, per diem, volunteers, and students.  

• When and how long are employees allowed to visit RUHS Week?  

  We recommend visiting during breaks and lunch. 

• What if the employee is not working that day?  

  Employees can contact Marketing@ruhealth.org to arrange a time to pick up their RUHS Week gift. Gifts are located at the RUHS Marketing office located in the CPC Building, Suite 209. 

• What about swing shift and night shift?

  Night shift employees are encouraged to visit RUHS Week after their shift ends. If employees are unable to attend during the event hours, they can pick up their gift from the Marketing Department.

  At the Medical Center, we are celebrating on Tuesday, May 6:

  • Night Staff Only: 7 a.m. – 10 a.m., following the end of your shift

  • Day Staff Only: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., during breaks and lunch; as your duties allow

  • Swing Shift: If possible, plan to visit during one of the above times or speak to your supervisor about your appreciation gift.

• Can we designate one person to pick up for the whole department?  

  No, with the exception of specific departments such as the Emergency Department and off-site locations. Employees are encouraged to attend in person if possible. 

• Can my department or organization participate in the event?

  Absolutely – with your supervisor’s approval! We are accepting vendors from internal RUHS departments, RIVCO organizations, and community partners.
