Photos: Oak Mountain Winery Hosts Annual Pinwheels for Prevention Event
The RUHS Foundation and local dignitaries recognized the important fight against child abuse during the foundation’s annual Pinwheels for Prevention Celebration of Hope event on Thursday, April 24, at Oak Mountain Winery in Temecula Valley Wine Country.
Speakers for the event included RUHS Foundation Board Chairman Jamil Dada, Riverside County Third District Supervisor Chuck Washington and Riverside County Child Assessment Team (RCCAT) Healthcare Social Work Supervisor Alejandrina Oceguera.
Pinwheels for Prevention is a national campaign that raises awareness of child abuse and prevention. The Foundation works diligently to support the campaign by collecting donations and through the symbolic planting of pinwheels in the stairwell garden beds outside of the Education Building.
During the event, First 5 Riverside County – the Riverside County Children and Families Commission – received Champion of Hope Award in recognition of its sponsorship of Pinwheels since 2021.
